New Project
This topic is a brief overview of creating a project and a sampling of some of the related views. It is intended to give you a feel for the overall application navigation, layout, and capabilities. Start with the Project List view:
To start a new project press the "add" button in the upper right-hand corner.
The Add Project view displays:
Select Source Project
All new projects originate from existing projects. The source project may be the Default project, a "Template" project, or any other project on your device. Select the first cell (the one with "Project") to bring up the source project select view:
Under the "New Project" section:
1) Assign a descriptive name to the project.
2) Assign the project to a customer. Use the "Scratchpad" customer for testing and training. Refer to the "New Customer" article for information on adding a new customer.
When you are satisfied with the Source Project, Project Name, and Customer press "Save" in the upper right-hand corner to create the new project. When left alone project name defaults to the name of the source project suffixed with the word "Copy".
You will now be returned to the Project List View with your new Project displayed. In the example below the defaults were used to create "Template One - Copy":
Note the newly created project has the same heating and cooling load as the source. It is an exact duplicate of the source with some exceptions, Project notes as well as a few other very project specific fields are not copied.
